My Journey with Food
Food isn't just what I do; it's my passion, and ensuring its safety has always been my top priority. With over 20 years of hands-on experience spanning various sectors within the food industry - from private enterprises to the national agency for food - my journey culminates in the establishment of CMM Food Consultancy Pte Ltd.
Experience and Expertise
My foray into the world of food began as a Food Technologist, where I diligently managed daily manufacturing operations while actively contributing to enhancing production efficiency and scalability.
Progressing through the ranks, I assumed pivotal managerial positions, notably as the Quality Assurance and R&D Manager at a leading tofu/tau kwa manufacturing company and subsequently as the Quality Assurance Manager at a prominent soya sauce and sauces company. Key highlights of these tenures include:

Establishment and proficient management of a R&D and microbiological testing laboratory

Leadership in spearheading R&D endeavours, complemented by support for sales and marketing strategies, particularly during new product launches

Design and execution of comprehensive product shelf-life studies

Attainment and maintenance of ISO 22000, HACCP, and Halal certifications for production facilities

Implementation of extensive training programs to ensure workforce competency and adherence to stringent food safety standards.
Before founding CMM Food Consultancy Pte Ltd, I joined the national agency for food where I was involved in the inspection and regulation of local food manufacturers, acquiring invaluable regulatory insights and fostering robust industry relationships alongside government bodies.
My tenure as a Food Science Lecturer at a polytechnic further deepened my understanding and practical application of food science. As a pioneer in launching the Food Science diploma programme, I crafted comprehensive curricula and established advanced laboratory infrastructures to nurture hands-on learning experiences for aspiring food professionals.
Food encompasses a myriad of disciplines, each demanding meticulous attention. I firmly advocate that food safety isn't solely the duty of the government; it's a collective responsibility shared by producers and consumers alike.
